NORFOLK, Va. --
The Old Dominion field hockey team resumes its three-game roadstand this weekend with matchups at Liberty and No. 5 North Carolina.

The Monarchs seek their second consecutive Big East win on Friday against Liberty at 4 p.m. in Lynchburg. ODU then travels to Durham, North Carolina, for the second time in the past two weeks to battle No. 5 North Carolina on Sunday at 1 p.m. at Duke's Williams Field at Jack Katz Stadium. Due to stadium renovation, UNC is playing all of their home games at Duke.

Both games will be streamed live on WatchESPN/ESPN3

Old Dominion is 1-5 against ranked opponents this season, as the Tar Heels mark the third top-five opponent for ODU in 2017. The Monarchs' last win over a top-five team was in 2015, when they defeated No. 5 Virginia, 3-2, in double overtime at home.

Individually, sophomore Erin Huffman leads Old Dominion with 13 points on a team-high six goals and one assist. Alexa Ostoich ranks second on the squad with 12 points on five goals and two assists, while Preseason All-Big East selection Danielle Grega has posted a team-leading three assists to go along with four goals, three of which came in a hat-trick performance against Georgetown last weekend.

The Monarchs have also received key contributions from newcomers in 2017. Senior transfer Julia Van Dorsten has two goals and two assists, while true freshmen Mia Fucci (1g, 1a), Cameran Nery-Strickland (2a) and Anouck Vandersteen (1a) have all recorded points offensively.

Defensively, goalkeeper Kealsie Robles has played all but 10 minutes in goal and is averaging over six saves per game.

ABOUT LIBERTY
The Flames are coming off of an 0-2 weekend last week in which they failed to score a goal. Liberty is 1-1 in Big East play with a win over Villanova and a loss to Quinnipiac. Agueda Moroni, who has scored seven of the team's 16 goals on the year, leads an offense that average two goals per game.

ABOUT #5 NORTH CAROLINA
The Tar Heels have won six straight entering Sunday's contest. UNC posted a 3-0 record last week, including an overtime victory over then-No. 6 Syracuse on the road. The 2016 NCAA runner-ups are led by Gab Major and Ashley Hoffman, who have combined for 12 goals and 13 assists. Overall, UNC is averaging 3.36 goals per game.
