NORFOLK, Va. --
The 23rd-ranked Old Dominion field hockey team is set to take on Rutgers in a neutral-site game in College Park, Maryland, on Sunday at 2 p.m. The match will take place at the Maryland Field Hockey Complex on the campus of Maryland.

Old Dominion (1-2) is coming off of a 3-2 shootout loss to No. 19 James Madison on Wednesday. The Monarchs opened the season with a close 3-2 defeat to No. 7 Penn State, before topping No. 21 American, 4-2.

Rutgers (3-0) will be the first non-top 25 opponent the Monarchs face this season.

Alexa Ostoich and Erin Huffman are tied for the team lead in goals with three goals apiece. Ostoich, the reigning Big East Offensive Player of the Week, has also registered two assists on the season for a team-high eight points. Preseason All-Big East selection Danielle Grega ranks third on the team in points with three.

Defensively, the backline of Amie Olton, Rebecca Birch and Kristen Vick has started all three games, while goalkeeper Kealsie Robles has played every minute in goal, making 22 saves.

Through the first three matches of the season, the Monarchs have been particularly strong in the first half of games. ODU has scored first in all three matches and have scored at least two goals in the opening half of all three contests, as well.
