NORFOLK, Va. --
Following an opening weekend split against a pair of ranked opponents, the 23rd-ranked Old Dominion field hockey team travels to No. 19 James Madison on Wednesday for its first road game of the season. Game time is set for 6 p.m.

Old Dominion (1-1) rebounded from a tough season-opening 3-2 loss to No. 7 Penn State on Friday with a 4-2 victory over No. 21 American on Sunday. James Madison (1-0) will mark the third consecutive top-25 opponent for the Monarchs to open the season.

Alexa Ostoich tallied two goals and two assists to pace the Monarchs during the opening weekend of play and subsequently earned Big East Offensive Player of the Week honors for her performance. Erin Huffman also has two goals on the season, while Preseason All-Big East selection Danielle Grega has a goal and an assist.

On the defensive side, Kealsie Robles has played all 140 minutes in goal, making nine saves through two games.

The former CAA foes will meet for the 65th time on Wednesday. ODU leads the all-time series, 53-11. However, James Madison defeated the Monarchs, 2-1, in Norfolk last season. Prior to last year's loss, the Monarchs had won seven consecutive games against the Dukes.

The last time the teams met in Harrisonburg was 2015, when ODU defeated JMU, 3-2, behind two goals from Grega.

ABOUT #19 JAMES MADISON
