NEW YORK -- Old Dominion was selected to finish third in the Big East Preseason Coaches' Poll and senior Danielle Grega was named to the Preseason All-Big East team, the league office announced on Wednesday.
The Monarchs were picked to finish behind preseason favorite UConn, who received all but one first-place vote, and Liberty. ODU opens Big East play with UConn on Sept. 15 in Storrs. View the complete eight-team poll below.
Grega, a forward from Kingston, Pennsylvania, was the Monarchs' lone representative on the preseason all-conference squad. The 2016 First Team All-Big East led ODU in scoring last season with 15 points and seven goals. Grega was one of just four unanimous selections on the Preseason All-Big East Team. The Monarchs officially open the season on Friday, Aug. 25, against Penn State at 6 p.m. at the L.R. Hill Sports Complex.
