TUCSON, Ariz. -- Kyle Battle, Vinnie Pasquantino and John Wilson were all named Freshman All-Americans by Collegiate Baseball News, the publication announced on Wednesday.

The honors mark the first time in program history that Old Dominion has had multiple Freshman All-Americans in the same season.

Battle, an outfielder from Glen Allen, finished second on the team in average with a .341 mark, while knocking in 36 runs. Battle, who moved into the leadoff position midway through the season, also hit two home runs and stole six bases.

Pasquantino, a first baseman from Moseley, hit .321 with five home runs, 17 doubles and 38 RBIs during his inaugural season with the Monarchs. Pasquantino, who primarily hit cleanup, finished third on the club with a .473 slugging percentage and also excelled in the field, committing just five errors for a .991 fielding percentage.

Wilson, a starting pitcher from Pittstown, New Jersey, went 6-1 with a 3.41 ERA as the team's Sunday starter. Opponents hit just .213 off of Wilson, who was the starting pitcher in two combined shutouts. In 58 innings pitched, Wilson struck out 35, while walking just 14. Wilson missed the final month of the season due to injury.
