Vojcinakova, Hutchinson and Botusharova Earn All-State Honors

NORFOLK, Va. – The 2017 Virginia Sports Information Directors Women's Tennis All-State honors were announced on Thursday and Old Dominion's Borislava Botusharova and Holly Hutchinson were named to the All-State Singles Second Team, while Hutchinson and Ingrid Vojcinakova garnered All-State Second Team accolades for doubles.

Vojcinakova (?ilina, Slovakia) ended her senior campaign garnering All-Conference USA First Team honors for singles and All C-USA Second Team honors for doubles with teammate Holly Hutchinson. Vojcinakova compiled an overall singles record of 10-4 and competed at all spots within the Old Dominion lineup.

Botusharova (Pazardzhik, Bulgaria) was named to the All C-USA First Team for singles, as she was nationally ranked all season. She played No. 1 and No. 2 singles during the spring and compiled an 11-3 record. She was 7-3 at No. 1 position and 4-0 at No. 2 position. She delivered the deciding point during the First Round of the C-USA Tournament match against UAB. Botusharova ended the season nationally ranked No. 117.

Hutchinson (Middlesex, England), the 2017 Conference USA Freshman of the Year, was nationally ranked in singles all year and was also the highest ranked freshman in the C-USA for the entire season. She was named to the All Conference USA First Team for singles and All-Conference Second Team for doubles. In the fall, she defeated the No. 11 nationally ranked singles player, Sydney Campbell, of Vanderbilt.

Hutchinson's highest singles ranking was No. 57, according to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). She played No. 1 and No. 2 singles during her freshman season and compiled a 10-5 record. The Middlesex, England-native was 4-4 at the No. 1 position and 6-1 at No. 2 position. Hutchinson finished the year nationally ranked No. 101.

Overall, William & Mary led all programs with five all-state selections and two major awards. Old Dominion and VCU tied for second with three all-state selections while JMU, Hampton and Virginia Tech each had a pair. Liberty, Virginia and Richmond each featured one honoree.
