COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Old Dominion women's golf team wrapped up the first round of the 2017 NCAA Columbus Regional at Ohio State University's Scarlet Course in 17th place Monday afternoon. Charlotte De Corte led ODU individually, as the sophomore Monarch is tied for 43rd place currently.
Through round one, fourth-ranked Florida (+9) leads the way, while No. 5 Florida State (+11) is in second and No. 27 Purdue and No. 29 Ohio State are tied for third place (+14). The Monarchs (+39) are in 17th place, 13 strokes ahead of 18th-place Cleveland State and just one stroke behind 16th-place Kentucky.
De Corte, who is tied for 43rd, led the Monarchs on day one, shooting a 7-over 79 in round one. Maggie Simmermacher (+8) shot an 8-over 80 and is in a tie for 52nd place. Sana Tufail (+10) is in 73rd, while Katerina Vlasinova (+14) is in 90th and Rachel Walker (+15) is in 91st.
The Monarchs are back in action beginning at 9:09 a.m. ET tomorrow for round two of the 2017 NCAA Columbus Regional from Ohio State University's Scarlet Course.
