NORFOLK, Va. --

Old Dominion (35-17, 18-9 C-USA) currently sits in second place in the league standings and can clinch the No. 2 seed in next week's conference tournament with a win and a LA Tech loss. The Monarchs sit two games ahead of LA Tech and Florida Atlantic, who are tied for third at 16-11 in conference play.

The Monarchs are undefeated in road series this season and are 12-1 overall in weekend series. ODU is hitting .295 as a team, including .328 in the last five games. Jared Young leads the Monarchs offensively with a .363 average and seven home runs, which both lead the team. Zach Rutherford has driven in a team-leading 53 runs to go along with 23 doubles, while freshmen Kyle Battle and Vinnie Pasquantino are both hitting .330 or better.

On the mound, senior starters Sam Sinnen and Adam Bainbridge have a combined eight wins during league play. Bainbridge is 7-3 with a 2.93 ERA with two complete games, while Sinnen is 3-0 with a 1.93 ERA in his last three starts. In the bullpen, Craig Lopez and Corey Klak are tied for the team lead in saves with four.

Florida Atlantic (31-18-1, 16-11 C-USA) is 23-6-1 at home this season, but have lost five of their last six conference games after getting swept by Southern Miss and then losing 2-of-3 at WKU last weekend. The Owls are hitting .292 as a team and are led by sophomore infielder Tyler Frank (.335, 10 HR, 41 RBI) and junior outfielder David Miranda (.324, 12 HR, 49 RBI). On the mound, FAU owns a club ERA of 4.45.

FAU leads the all-time series, 7-3, and swept the Monarchs in Norfolk last season. The last time the teams met in Boca Raton, the Owls won 2-of-3.
