NORFOLK, Va. -- Old Dominion begins a five-game road trip with a pair of in-state midweek contests against No. 25 Virginia and VMI this week. The Monarchs take on UVA on Tuesday at 5 p.m. and VMI on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
Gameday audio will be provided for both games with Tuesday on STAR 1310 and Wednesday on Monarch Media. Fans can also follow via live stats.
Old Dominion (22-6, 7-2 C-USA) won 2-of-3 against Charlotte last weekend in a weekend of pitchers' duels. The Monarchs posted back-to-back shutouts in games two and three against the 49ers and ended the series with 23 straight scoreless innings.
Offensively, ODU is averaging 7.1 runs per game and have scored 10 or more runs in three of its last four midweek games. Freshman Vinnie Pasquantino leads the team with a .369 average and Culver Lamb has driven in a team-high 24 runs.
Overall, the Monarchs are 6-1 in midweek games and 4-1 against Virginia schools with the only loss coming in a midweek series split with James Madison.
Virginia (21-8, 5-7 ACC), ranked 25th in the latest D1Baseball.com Top 25, lost 2-of-3 to No. 2 Louisville over the weekend. The Cavaliers rank 25th in the nation in scoring at 7.6 runs per game are led by top draft prospect Pavin Smith and two-way player Adam Haseley, who both have hit a team-leading eight home runs. ODU leads the all-time series against UVA, 33-27-2.
VMI (13-15, 2-4 SoCon), the alma mater of head coach Chris Finwood, dropped 2-of-3 to Samford last weekend. The Keydets, who host Longwood on Tuesday, are led offensively by Matt Pita and Will Malbon, who are both hitting over .345. Earlier this season, ODU defeated VMI, 14-2, at The Bud. The Monarchs lead the all-time series, 45-11.
Morgan Maguire is projected to start for Old Dominion against UVA, followed by Jake Josephs on Wednesday at VMI.

BASEBALL VOUCHER BOOKS
Baseball voucher books can be purchased here for $50 and contain a total of 36 ticket vouchers. The ticket vouchers can be used at any of the 36 home ODU baseball games this season, including the Harbor Park game against Virginia Tech and the Key Dog Classic against VCU on May 10 at the Bud Metheny Complex.
