WASHINGTON, D.C. – Old Dominion lacrosse scored a season-high 19 goals in the 19-6 win over Howard in Atlantic Sun conference action on Friday afternoon in Washington, D.C. Ten different Lady Monarchs scored in the win led by senior Connor Carson who tallied a season and career-high five goals.
Megan Topper led the team in points with six off of her three goals and three assists. She now has 62 career assists and needs four to tie Lisa Bernardini (66) for second in the ODU record books.
Carson's five goals was a career-high as were her nine draw controls as she increases her career tally to 193 career draws. Her five goals and nine draws led either team.
Maggi Buckley and Lauren Ey split time in the net for the Lady Monarchs. Buckley tallied three saves giving up four goals, while Ey had two saves and gave up two goals. Buckley improves to 8-8, 4-5 in the net heading into Saturday's regular season finale.
The Lady Monarchs are back to action tomorrow, Saturday, April 29, as they play Delaware State in the regular season finale. Attention, game time has been moved and first draw is now set for 5 p.m. at Alumni Stadium in Dover, Delaware.

The Lady Monarchs opened up the scoring with four-straight goals spurred by Sophia Richie on the assist from Katie Miller. Megan Topper, Colby Muller and Katie Miller all scored within a ten minute window putting the score 4-0 with 17:07 to play.
HU scored back-to-back goals closing the gap to two, the closest the score would get in the game.
ODU closed out the half on a 5-2 run entering halftime up 9-4 over the Bison. Topper collected her second goal while Carson tallied her first of the game. Also getting in on the scoring party were Lauren Irvine, Brooke Stein and Muller for her second goal of the day.
Coming back to action, the Lady Monarchs scored five straight to go up 14-4 and earn a running clock as they held the 10-goal advantage. Carson scored twice, Topper and Richie each collected their second and Megan Cameron connected with the net for her lone goal of the game.
Howard's, Asiyah Frank, scored her second of the match before the Lady Monarchs went on yet another five-goal run. Morgan Marrale got the drive going on an unassisted shot with 22:15 left on the clock to give ODU the running clock advantage for the second time of the game, that would last the remainder of the contest.
Freshman Haley Rineer scored her first collegiate career goal in the five-goal run. Carson scored twice with an Irvine goal in-between to give ODU a 19-5 lead. Howard's Natia Warren put the final tally on the board as Old Dominion won 19-6.
