TEXARKANA, Ark. -- Old Dominion men's golfer Nick Rencis is tied for 10th place after the first round of the 2017 Conference USA Men's Golf Championship at the Texarkana Country Club. The Monarchs are tied for 11th as a team with LA Tech and FAU. 

ODU shot a 307 (+19) in round one and are in a three-way tie for 11th place with LA Tech and FAU after the opening day of the four-day conference tournament. The Monarchs are five strokes behind 10th-place team UTSA.

Nick Rencis led Old Dominion in the opening round of the tournament, firing a 72 (E) to land himself in a tie for 10th place. Rencis is just one stroke behind No. 97 nationally-ranked Frederik Dreier of LA Tech (-1).

Michael Bakker and Calvin Greschner are tied with one another for 46th place (+6), while David Langley is one stroke behind (+7) in 50th and Antonio Cruz-Conde (+12) is in 64th.

Rencis sunk five birdies in round one, which tied for the third-most of all 65 competitors.
