DETROIT, Mich. – Old Dominion lacrosse drops its second-straight Atlantic Sun conference game on the road at Detroit Mercy falling 15-8 to the Titans.
Connor Carson, Morgan Marrale and Katie Miller each collected two goals in the game as the Lady Monarchs fall to 6-7, 2-4 ASUN on the season. Sophia Richie and Megan Cameron each had a goal in the game to total eight for ODU. Maggi Buckley tallied eight saves and gave up 15 goals.
Megan Topper added two assists and now sits third with 56 career assists in the ODU Lacrosse record book.
Detroit Mercy had three girls record hat tricks in their first conference win. Kelsi Pritchard and Lexie Kinmond lead the Titans with four goals each. Jordyn Beam also had a hat trick with three goals against the Lady Monarchs.
UDM opened up the scoring 56 seconds into the game on a goal by Lexie Kinmond, her 27th of the season. Connor Carson responded in the 5th minute of the game to even out the score, collecting her 30th goal this year.
The Titans went on a four goal run over the next six minutes before Katie Miller collected her 12th goal of the season and pulled ODU within three, down 5-2.
In the final 11 minutes of the half, the teams each scored three times to enter halftime with Detroit leading by three, 8-5. Carson collected her second of the game, while Morgan Marrale recorded her first and Sophia Richie tallied her only goal of the game.
UDM scored seven goals in the second half to ODU’s three to win the game 15-8. Marrale and Miller each collected their second goals of the game while Megan Cameron tallied her lone goal of the game as the Lady Monarchs fell to 2-4 in ASUN action.
The Lady Monarchs return to action on Friday, April 21 as they host ASUN opponent Kennesaw State at the L.R. Hill Sports Complex at 4 p.m. Fans are encouraged to arrive early as the first 100 in attendance receive an ODU Lacrosse tank top.
The Friday afternoon game is also the ‘Championship Effort’ game host by ODU SAAC and the six Game Day professors will be recognized as well.
