NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion women’s tennis team (10-7) fell to VCU (12-6) by a 4-2 score on Saturday afternoon at the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center. The Lady Monarchs were again without Borislava Botusharova.
ODU’s double tandems of Holly Hutchinson/Ingrid Vojcinakova and Adriana Rajkovic/Natalya Malenko claimed victory to give ODU a 1-0 lead.
Old Dominion senior Marijana Novakovic was too much for Noumea Witmus in No. 6 singles (6-2, 4-6, 6-3) to give ODU a 2-1 advantage, but the Rams would win the remaining three singles matches to ultimately claim a 4-2 victory in Norfolk.
ODU’s match originally scheduled for Sunday, April 2, against South Alabama has been CANCELLED. Old Dominion will be back in action next Saturday, April 8, when they travel to Williamsburg for a showdown with William & Mary at 11:00 a.m.
