NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion women’s tennis team (10-6) downed Delaware (8-5) by a 4-1 score on Wednesday afternoon outside at the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center.
"Hats off to Delaware,” said ODU head coach Dom Manilla. “I was incredibly impressed at how prepared they were for today’s match with the wind and the outdoor tennis that we played. I was really impressed with the level of energy they brought to the doubles that carried over into singles. I feel lucky that we were able to eke out a win."
The Lady Monarchs will welcome in-state rival VCU (11-6) on Sat., April 1, at 11:00 a.m. Admission for all is free. Old Dominion's match originally scheduled for Sunday, April 2, against South Alabama has been CANCELLED.
Meet VCU
The VCU Rams have started the season off at 11-6 after winning their first four matches of the season. The Rams are most recently coming off a win over Middle Tennessee of the C-USA by a score of 4-3, which snapped their four-match losing streak.
