NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion women's tennis team (9-6) will host Delaware (8-4) on Wed., March 29, at 12:30 p.m. The Lady Monarchs will then welcome in-state rival VCU (11-6) on Sat., April 1, at 11:00 a.m. Both matches this week will take place at the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center and admission for all is free. Old Dominion's match originally scheduled for Sunday, April 2, against South Alabama has been CANCELLED.
ODU’s freshman Holly Hutchinson leads the way for ODU in the national rankings, as she enters the week ranked No. 89. Borislava Botusharova is at 10-3 on the season and has the most wins of any Lady Monarch in singles so far. Ingrid Vojcinakova is currently on a four-match winning streak in singles play and is 9-3 on the season.
Old Dominion is 7-3 when playing at home so far this season and has claimed victory in three of its last five matches.
Meet Delaware
The Delaware Blue Hens have started the season 8-4 and are coming off back to back wins by a score of 4-3 over Richmond and UNCW this past weekend. The Blue Hens are currently on a six-match winning streak.
Meet VCU
The VCU Rams have started the season off at 11-6 after winning their first four matches of the season. The Rams are most recently coming off a win over Middle Tennessee of the C-USA by a score of 4-3, which snapped their four-match losing streak.
