PINEHURST, N.C. -- The Old Dominion men's golf team wrapped up day three at the Pinehurst Intercollegiate in a tie for second place with Elon. Individually, two Monarchs finished in the top 10, as Chad Hess took seventh and Antonio Cruz-Conde placed 10th.
Ball State won the team race, while the Monarchs were seven strokes behind (+37) in a second-place tie with Elon.
Chad Hess was the highest-placing Monarch, as the junior from Orefield, Pennsylvania claimed seventh place. Antonio Cruz-Conde finished in 10th while David Langley and Calvin Greschner finished just outside the top 10 in 12th and 15th place, respectively. Michael Bakker finished in 19th.
For the tournament, Old Dominion recorded the most pars of any team in the field (165) and the most birdies (30) of all 14 schools.
Chad Hess and Antonio Cruz-Conde tied for the best par-five scoring average (4.78) of all 82 golfers in the field.
The Monarchs are back in action March 18-21 at the Kingsmill Intercollegaite in Williamsburg, Virginia.
