Old Dominion Hosts Richmond Friday at 1:00 p.m.

NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion women’s tennis team (3-1) will take on Richmond (1-2) on Friday, Feb. 10 at 1:00 p.m. at the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center. All admission is free. The Lady Monarchs will look to win their third straight.

Old Dominion is coming off a dominate performance over Appalachian State, defeating them 7-0.

The Lady Monarchs had two players break the top 100 in this week’s ITA Rankings. True freshman, Holly Hutchinson, comes in at No. 57, forty spots up from her preseason ranking at No. 97. Junior Borislava Botusharova cracks the top 90, coming in at the No. 89 nationally ranked spot.

Hutchinson, notched her second win of the season against App. State, moving to 2-0, while Botusharova is 3-0 on the year. Senior Ingrid Vojcinakova improved to 3-0 with her singles win against Appalachian State last week.

Meet Richmond:
The Richmond Spiders have started the season 1-2 with loses to William & Mary and Maryland, while their win came against Navy. Richmond lost to William & Mary 6-1, securing one singles point in the No. 5 match. Richmond hosted Navy in its home season opener, claiming a 4-3 victory. In U of R’s third match, the Spiders fell to Maryland, 7-0.

Freshman Lea Owens has started the spring off with two wins at the No. 5 spot in singles, as she is the only Spider with two wins this season.
