NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion women’s tennis freshman Holly Hutchinson (Middlesex, England) was named the Conference USA Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week on Tuesday afternoon, as announced by C-USA officials. Hutchinson is currently nationally ranked No. 68 by the Oracle/ITA Division I Women's Collegiate Tennis Rankings.

Hutchinson went 2-1 in singles and 2-1 in doubles last week, with one of her singles victories coming over No. 108 Kana Daniel of Penn in the No. 1 slot. Hutchinson is undefeated this season when playing No. 1. Hutchinson clinched the crucial doubles point against Penn in a marathon (7-6 (9-7)), as ODU defeated the Quakers, 4-3. The England-native played three singles matches and three doubles matches in four days. This is Hutchinson’s first C-USA award of her career.

Hutchinson and the rest of the ODU women’s tennis team will be back in action on Saturday, Feb. 25 in Blacksburg, for a showdown with Virginia Tech at 4:00 p.m.
