Monarchs to Wrestle Navy Friday at 7:30 PM

ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The Old Dominion wrestling team (4-9, 1-5 MAC) will head to Annapolis for a non-conference dual meet against Navy (7-1, 2-1 EIWA) this Friday, Feb. 3 at 7 p.m.

ODU will look to rebound against the Midshipmen after suffering a 28-9 loss to No. 22 Central Michigan last Friday night. Highlighting the evening for the Monarchs, No. 9 Jack Dechow scored a late takedown to defeat MAC rival and 16th-ranked Jordan Ellingwood, 3-1, at 184. Also picking up wins for ODU were Kevin Budock and No. 19 Seldon Wright

The Midshipmen enter Friday night's match fresh off a runner-up finish at the All-Academy Championships last weekend. Navy crowned five individual champions at the eight-team tournament, as No. 13 Jared Prince, Drew Daniels, No. 16 Jadaen Bernstein, Michael Coleman and Steban Cervantes won titles.

In dual meet action, Navy is 7-1 with wins over Duke, American and Maryland, among others. Their lone loss of the season came at the hands of No. 14 Lehigh, 23-9, on Jan. 13.

In the last meeting between these two teams, the Monarchs downed Navy, 19-18 on criteria, last February at the Ted Constant Center.
