NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion men’s soccer wraps up their regular season schedule on Friday, Nov. 4, at New Mexico (RV). The match kicks off at 9 p.m. EST/7 p.m. MT, at the UNM Soccer Complex and will be broadcast for free on the Mountain West networkLIVE STATS

OLD DOMINION (5-7-2, 2-4-1 C-USA)
The Monarchs secured their spot in the 2016 Conference USA Men’s Soccer tournament with a thrilling 2-1 double overtime win over Florida Atlantic.

Kaio DaSilva scored the golden goal in the 102nd minute on a header passed in by Sebastian Hauret. Jimmy Filerman scored in the 53rd minute to put ODU on the board first. The goals represented each athletes’ first collegiate career goals.

Hauret leads the Monarchs in points and assists with 10 and six, respectively. Niko Klosterhalfen and Jesse Miralrio are tied for first on the team in goals with three each this season.

Thirteen athletes have played in the back half of the field for Old Dominion this season helping the team post three shutouts. Alex Tiesenhausen has played every game in net for the Monarchs totaling 1,273:30 minutes in goal this season. He has tallied 59 saves with a .711 save percentage and given up 26 goals for a 1.70 goals-against average.

(RV) NEW MEXICO (9-6-1, 3-3-1 C-USA)
The Lobos enter the game on a two-game win streak after defeating UAB 1-0 in Birmingham, Alabama, on Oct. 26, and upsetting then ranked No. 25 South Carolina 2-1 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on Oct. 30.

New Mexico’s attack is led by star forward Niko Hansen, who has recorded 10 goals and an assist for 21 points on the season. Hansen was named the National Player of the Week (9/20) by College Soccer News and was also a member of the National Team of the Week.

Chris Wehan is the second threat to opposing defenses with five goals and two assists for 12 points. Wehan is currently on the Hermann Trophy watch list, for the second-straight year. Sam Gleadle leads the Lobos with four assists on the year.

Defensively, the Lobos have recorded six shutouts, four that came between Sept. 2-11. Jason Beaulieu has played 16-of-18 matches for the Lobos in net totaling 1,492:29 minutes recording 49 saves for a .790 save percentage. He has given up 13 goals to opponents for a 0.78 goals-against average.

SERIES HISTORY
The two squads sit in a 2-2 tie currently with the Monarchs holding a two-game win streak in the series history. ODU beat New Mexico in Norfolk, Va. last season 2-0 and knocked the No. 22 Lobos out of the 2014 Conference USA tournament with a 2-1 victory.

LOOKING FORWARD
The Men’s Soccer team travels to Huntington, W.Va.. for their fourth consecutive Conference USA Tournament. Match-ups will be decided Saturday night after the regular season ends for all C-USA schools.

The Monarchs have made the conference tournament every year since joining Conference USA in 2013 and won the title in 2014, the first ODU program to claim a title in the new conference.
