CHANDLER, Ariz. -- Old Dominion field hockey's Megan Byas and Danielle Grega were named to the 2016 Longstreth/NFHCA Division I All-South Region Second Team, as was announced by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association on Tuesday. Byas received the honor for the second time in her career while Grega earned All-Region distinction for the first time.

One of just 66 seniors in Division I field hockey receiving the honor, Byas was one of three defenders named to the All-South Region Second Team. The senior from Driffield, England concluded her career at ODU last month before being named first team All-BIG EAST and receiving an invitation to play in the Victory Sports Tours/NFHCA Senior Game. She helped the Lady Monarchs rank third in the conference with a 2.04 goals-against average, registered four goals and two assists on the year and turned in a two-goal performance that led ODU to a come-from-behind win over then-No. 14 Liberty, 2-1 OT.

One of only 46 juniors across the nation in Division I field hockey receiving the honor, Grega was one of seven forwards included on the All-South Region Second Team. The Kingston, Pennsylvania native led the Lady Monarchs in scoring with 15 points off seven goals and one assist, scored two goals against Penn State and one goal against then-No. 7 Maryland. Grega was named First Team All-BIG EAST earlier this month alongside Byas.

The Longstreth/NFHCA Division I Regional Players of the Year will be announced on Thursday, with the All-America squad coming out on Dec. 7 and the National Player of the Year on Dec. 14.
