NORFOLK, Va. -- The Old Dominion women's basketball team welcomes former CAA foe William & Mary to the Ted Constant Center on Sunday, Nov. 20, for a 2 p.m. showdown.
The game will be streamed live on CUSA.tv and can also be heard live on ESPN Radio 94.1. Both the live stream and radio broadcast will feature play-by-play from Doug Ripley.
Old Dominion (1-0) is coming off of a 65-54 victory over Norfolk State in the Lady Monarchs' season opener on Friday night at The Ted. Jennie Simms and Destinee Young, who each recorded a double-double, scored 27 of their combined 39 points in the second half to lead ODU to the victory.
Overall, the Lady Monarchs outrebounded the Spartans, 54-39, and held NSU to just 30.9 percent shooting from the field. Leading 26-25 at the half, ODU used a 16-0 run to start the second half to pull away from the Spartans.
William & Mary (1-1) also won on Friday evening, defeating Richmond at home, 67-39. The Tribe fell in their season opener 63-57 to St. John's. Senior guard Marlena Tremba leads W&M in scoring with 13 points per game, while senior forward Alex Masaquel averages 10.5 points and six rebounds.
This will be the 62nd all-time meeting between the Hampton Roads schools since 1969. ODU holds a 56-5 advantage in the all-time series over that span.
OLD DOMINION NOTES
- ODU has won six of its last seven dating back to last season
- Jennie Simms and Destinee Young each recorded double-doubles in the season opener
- Karen Barefoot, with a 297-222 career record, is just three wins shy of 300 for her career
- Junior guard Keyana Brown is a Williamsburg native and attended Williamsburg Christian Academy
- This is the second of three games in five days for ODU to open the season
