COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- The 13th-ranked Old Dominion field hockey team (6-5, 2-1 BIG EAST) fell to No. 7 Maryland (9-3, 3-1 Big Ten) in College Park Tuesday evening.

"Structurally, it was a good game for us," head coach Andrew Griffiths said. "We had chances to win, but we gave the ball away carelessly at times, and they created chances from those turnovers. They are a skillful team, but Kealsie Robles was really sharp in goal for us. We are improving as a team, and we are excited to attack our next conference game on Friday."

Maryland got on the board first, as Olivia Reiter found the back of the cage in the 14th minute from a rebound off a penalty corner to put the Terrapins up, 1-0.

With under two minutes remaining in the half, Danielle Grega collected a rebound off a blocked Maryland corner and ran the distance of the field to score her sixth goal of the season. The Lady Monarchs and the Terrapins entered the half deadlocked, 1-1, despite Maryland owning a 12-3 advantage in shots.

Maryland's Welma Luus notched her 10th goal of the season in the 46th minute off an assist from Linnea Gonzales, putting the Terrapins back on top, 2-1.

The Lady Monarchs were unable to find the game-tying goal, as the Terps pulled out a 2-1 victory.

Sophomore goalkeeper Kealsie Robles played all 70 minutes in the cage and registered 10 saves on the day.
