NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion men’s soccer team travels to Huntington, West Virginia on Wednesday, Oct. 26, for a midweek 7 p.m. match against the Marshall Thundering Herd at the Hoops Family Field.

OLD DOMINION (3-6-2, 0-3-1)
The Monarchs are still searching for their first conference win after falling Saturday night 3-2 against the conference leading South Carolina Gamecocks (RV) at the ODU Soccer Complex.
Johan De Picker, a sophomore defender, scored his first goal of the season for the Monarchs on Saturday night on the Sebastien Hauret assist. The goal was De Picker’s second career goal while the assist was Hauret’s fifth of the season and his career.
Niko Klosterhalfen scored in the 87th minute on the pass from Cole Stringer to pull the Monarchs within one. Klosterhalfen broke the three-way tie to lead the ODU scoring front with three goals on the season and is tied with Hauret in points at seven apiece.
Jimmy Filerman led the Monarchs in shots with six while Jesse Miralrio had five, as the duo combined for 11 of the teams 20 shots Saturday night. On the season, Miralrio has 37 shots for a 3.36 shot per game average.
Alex Tiesenhausen fell to 3-6-2 in net with the loss against South Carolina. The redshirt senior has given up 19 goals this season for a 1.74 goals against average. He has tallied 50 saves for a .725 save percentage.
MARSHALL (6-8-1, 1-3-1)
The Thundering Herd enter Wednesday’s match after drawing 2-2 with the Lobos of New Mexico (RV) in Albuquerque, N.M. Three of Marshall’s last four games have gone into overtime periods during which the Herd have collected a 1-2-1 record.
Trevor Starcher leads the Herd in points with ten on three goals and four assists. Daniel Jodah sits tied with Starcher in goals and is just one assist and one point short of tying him for the lead. Paul Whitener is tied with Starcher in assists with four and has the third highest point total at six.
Defensively the Thundering Herd has given up 22 goals for a team average 1.22 goals against average. Trevor Clemons has played a majority of time in net for Marshall, 1030:30 minutes, collecting 43 saves for a .754 save percentage.
SERIES HISTORY
The series is tied 2-2 with each team holding two wins over the other with the Thundering Herd winning the last two encounters. ODU looks to break their streak against the Herd and also pick up their first conference win of the season on Wednesday night.

Old Dominion returns home to the ODU Soccer Complex on Saturday, Oct. 29, at 7 p.m. for a conference match against the FIU Panthers.
