MINNEAPOLIS -- The Old Dominion wrestling team is ranked as the 24th best dual meet squad in the nation and has three wrestlers ranked in the top 20 according to the first InterMat poll released this week.
As a team, ODU is ranked No. 24 in the dual meet team rankings and is the fourth-highest rated MAC school behind No. 3 Missouri, No. 18 Central Michigan and No. 19 Northern Iowa.
Of the top 25 dual meet teams, the Monarchs will square off with No. 3 Missouri, No. 12 NC State, No. 18 Central Michigan and No. 19 Northern Iowa in regular season meets this year.
In the individual rankings, sophomore Seldon Wright makes his debut in the InterMat poll, checking in at No. 20 at 165. Wright is the fifth-highest ranked MAC grappler in the weight class.
At 184, a weight class that boasts two defending national champions and two returning NCAA finalists, three-time NCAA Qualifier and 2014 All-American Jack Dechow is ranked No. 11. The redshirt senior from Richmond, Illinois is the second-highest ranked MAC wrestler behind only Missouri's two-time All-American Willie Miklus.
Redshirt junior Kevin Beazley returns back to the InterMat poll as the 14th-ranked wrestler at 197 after taking an Olympic redshirt last season. The Howell, Michigan native is the third-highest MAC wrestler behind two-time NCAA Champion J'Den Cox of Missouri and Shawn Scott of Northern Illinois.
