IRVING, Texas – Old Dominion University senior linebacker Anthony Wilson was named the Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
Wilson notched a career-high 11 tackles and recorded the first three sacks of his career on Saturday against App State. The three sacks is an ODU single-game record.
For the season, Wilson leads the Monarchs with 17 tackles, and leads Conference USA with five tackles for loss and three sacks.
Wilson and Old Dominion travel to NC State on Saturday at 6 p.m. The game will be broadcast on ESPN3.
