WILLIAMSBURG, Va. -- A late goal from senior Casey Dolan lifted the No. 15 ODU field hockey team past William & Mary, 2-1, Sunday afternoon in Williamsburg. The Lady Monarchs, now 4-1, 0-0 (BIG EAST), have won four straight games while William & Mary fell to 1-4, 0-0 (CAA).

"It was a better performance today to improve from Friday's game," head coach Andrew Griffiths said. "William & Mary played a good style of possession hockey and has some talented players. We made it tough on ourselves by not executing on our penalty corners, which would have given us some breathing room. On the other side, we did not concede a single penalty corner in the game, which is significant. I am excited for our week ahead preparing for the start of BIG EAST conference play on Friday."

Just minutes before halftime, Old Dominion freshman Erin Huffman got the Lady Monarchs on the board, scoring her third goal of the season off a penalty stroke.

ODU took a 1-0 lead into the intermission, as the Lady Monarchs led the shot count 9-2 and also held a 5-0 advantage in penalty corners.

William & Mary found the equalizing goal in the 49th miniute when Erin Menges' shot was blocked and Estelle Hughes capitalized off the rebound, scoring her first goal of the season.

With under 10 minutes to play, ODU senior Casey Dolan scored her second game winning goal of the season, collecting her own rebound and firing a shot past the Tribe goalkeeper to lead the Lady Monarchs to their fourth straight victory.

For the game, Old Dominion outshot William & Mary 12-8 and held an 8-0 advantage in penalty corners.

Kealsie Robles started all 70 minutes in goal for the Lady Monarchs, recording three saves and her fourth win of the year.
