NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion women’s soccer team (1-4) fell in overtime by a 1-0 score to William & Mary (3-1), when the Tribe scored the match’s lone goal in the 94th minute on Thursday night at the ODU Soccer Complex in front of a crowd of 385.

After outshooting W&M 14-5 for the game, it was Mackenzie Kober who headed in a Haley Kent free kick to lift the Tribe to victory in Norfolk.

Just four minutes into the first half, the weather sirens sounded, which led to a 42-minute delay.

The Tribe attempted their first shot of the contest in the 38th minute, which would be their only attempt of the first 45 minutes of action. Old Dominion held a 3-1 advantage in shots and 1-0 advantage in corners in the first half. W&M’s Grace Smith was credited with three saves in the opening half.

Old Dominion would outshoot the Tribe 11-3 in the second half, but neither team would find the back after 90 minutes of play, sending the match into overtime. After the second half, ODU held a 14-4 advantage in shots and 4-2 advantage on corners. William & Mary’s Grace Smith compiled six saves on the evening.

Old Dominion will be back in action on Sunday, Sept. 4 against ECU at the ODU Soccer Complex at 6:00 p.m. Sundays are now “Dog Days” at all home matches this year for ODU women’s soccer.
