NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion University completed its second day of fall camp on a steamy Tuesday morning at the L.R. Hill Sports Complex Practice Fields.

In helmets only for the second day in a row due to NCAA restrictions, the Monarchs put in work on the field goal/extra point and block units, and the punt team. Both the offense and defense made several highlight plays throughout the two hour practice.

The defensive line had a strong practice, especially in the first several team sessions. Miles Fox and Bunmi Rotimi started the first period with sacks while Rashaad Coward, Jude Brenya, Pat Toal and Casey Bernard all got to the quarterback in the practice.

The big offensive plays of the morning were pass plays from David Washington to Jonathan Duhart, a 60-yard touchdown pass, and a 70-yard touchdown catch and run from Shuler Bentley to Zach Pascal.

Spotlight On: Defensive End Oshane Ximines
Oshane Ximines led ODU in sacks and tackles for loss last season as a redshirt freshman and is now back as an experienced member of the defensive line after starting all 12 games last season. Ximines registered 32 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks a year ago.

"I now have the sense of mind that I can help the other guys out. I can tell the freshman to keep your head on and stay focused," Ximines said. "I know what's coming and I can help out the team better."

As a true freshman in 2014, Ximines weighed in at 216 pounds. Now a redshirt sophomore, Ximines tips the scales at 250 pounds.

"I want to keep working on my size so I can make more of a difference in the run," Ximines said.
