ODU Sports caught up with head coach Alan Dawson post game to get his thoughts on the match.

"I am very pleased with the overall performance," said Dawson. "We have a lot of new faces and I think collectively we played well as a team. We played some attractive football, the only disappointment is conceding a goal so late in the game. We didn't manage the game very well in the last five minutes or so, but we did have a lot of subs in there and there was a little bit of confusion. Overall, I couldn't be happier and I am really looking forward to coaching this team. They are going to be an exciting group to be around."

The Monarchs take to the field on Saturday, August 20, as they host the Black Knights of Army in their second and final exhibition match.

Old Dominion opens regular season play on Friday, August 26, at the ODU Soccer Complex at 7 p.m. against UNLV.
