MACON, Ga. -- Ashmore Standing has been named the Atlantic Sun's Women's Lacrosse Player of the Year, the league announced on Wednesday. Overall, a total of seven Lady Monarchs garnered all-conference honors.

Standing becomes just the third player in ODU history to be named conference player of the year, joining Kelly Kimener (CAA, 2009) and Barb DiArcangelo (CAA, 1993). The Virginia Beach native leads the conference in goals (59) for the second consecutive season and is just nine goals away from breaking the ODU single-season record of 67 set by Cathy Large in 1987. Standing recorded both her 150th career goal and and 200th career point during the season.

Connor Carson and Missy Koscinski, along with Standing, were named to the A-Sun All-Conference First Team. Carson, a midfielder, repeated as a first-team selection after tallying an ODU-record 64 draw controls. She has also scored 23 goals and caused 21 turnovers. Koscinski, a defender, is the only player in the conference to rank in the top five in both caused turnovers and ground balls. Her 27 caused turnovers are the second-most in the A-Sun.

Maggi Buckley, Morgan Gallagher and Morgan Marrale all landed on the second team for ODU. Buckley started all 17 games in goal, compiling a 14-3 record and posting an 8.84 goals against average, which ranks second in the conference. Gallagher, a first team selection last year, is tied for fourth in the A-Sun in caused turnovers with 25. Marrale ranks in the top 10 in the conference in both assists (6th, 21) and points (10th, 49).

Kerri Caruso was ODU's lone member of the All-Freshmen Team. The defender from Downington, Pennsylvania, has been the only freshman to start every game for the Lady Monarchs, recording 11 caused turnovers and 18 ground balls.

Regular season champion Jacksonville led the conference with four first-team selections, including Defensive Player of the Year, Ashtyn Hiron, along with Coach of the Year, Mindy McCord. Detroit's Kaitlyn Wandelt was named Freshman of the Year.
