NORFOLK, Va. -- Old Dominion senior rower Colleen Rennie was named to the College Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) Region 3 Second Team, the organization announced.
Rennie, who was also named to the Big 12 All-Conference Team, joined student-athletes from Virginia, Texas, Duke, Syracuse, Notre Dame, Louisville, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Miami on the Region 3 squad. Student-athletes on the All-Region teams are evaluated on the strength of their team’s regional finish, coaches recommendations and their 2,000-meter erg score. In addition to Rennie's selection, a total of 11 Lady Monarchs earned the 2016 CRCA Scholar-Athlete Award. To qualify for the award, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above, compete in 75 percent of the team's competitions and be in at least their second year of eligibility.
Shyann Christian, Carlie Cohen, Megan DeHond, Jessica Drury, Keira Flanagan, Shannon Huff, Shannon La Sala, Kennedy Stafford, Jenna Sterling, Brett Wolff and Lauren Wright all earned the award for ODU. View all of the recipients of the CRCA Scholar-Athlete Award here.
