NORFOLK, Va. – The No. 62 Old Dominion women’s tennis team (12-5) will square off with in-state foe No. 36 William & Mary (14-6) at the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center this Saturday, April 9 at 2:00 p.m., a match that will be played at the same time and location as the Old Dominion men’s tennis’ match against the Tribe.
The Old Dominion Lady Tennis Monarchs will put their five match win streak on the line during their last home match of the 2016 season and of seniors Nikol Hristova and Ivana Vukovic’s careers. Leading the way for the ODU is sophomore Borislava Botusharova who has posted an 8-1 singles record at the No. 1 position. Nataliya Vlasova and Ingrid Vojcinakova have each won five of their last singles matches for Old Dominion. ODU’s doubles duo in Nikol Hristova and Nataliya Vlasova is 8-2 on the year and undefeated at the No. 2 doubles spot.
No. 36 William & Mary (14-6) will be the Lady Tennis Monarchs’ seventh ranked opponent of the year. The Tribe’s lone junior Marie Faure from France is ranked No. 123 in the latest ITA rankings and boasts a 13-6 overall singles record. Also leading W&M is reining CAA player of the year Elizaveta Nemchinov who holds down the No. 1 singles position for the William & Mary, having faced seven ranked singles players already this year.
