No. 48 Men?s Tennis Welcomes No. 70 W&M Sat. & No. 69 UNCW Sun.

NORFOLK, Va. – The No. 48 Old Dominion men’s tennis team (16-4) will welcome in-state foe No. 70 William & Mary (12-6) this Saturday, April 9 at 2:00 p.m., and then will play host to another former CAA-rival in No. 69 UNC-Wilmington (9-7) on Sunday, April 10 at 2:00 p.m. Both matches will take place at the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center. On Saturday, the Lady Tennis Monarchs will also take on William & Mary at 2:00 p.m.

The Old Dominion Tennis Monarchs are undefeated at home and have won 14 of their last 15 matches, including wins against three ranked teams. Headlining ODU’s line-up which features four Tennis Monarchs in double-digit singles wins, is Adam Moundir who is 11-5 at the No. 1 position and is riding a six game win streak.

No. 70 William & Mary (12-6) recently knocked off No. 44 Drake on the road last weekend by a 4-2 score. The Tribe is in the midst of a six-match road trip that features four nationally ranked teams. W&M has three singles players posting a 16-win record; one being junior Damon Niquet who has won his last 13 matches at the No. 6 spot.

No. 69 UNC-Wilmington is 9-7 on the season, 1-4 on the road and will enter Sunday’s match-up after facing VCU on Saturday. The Seahawks have a nationally ranked singles player in No. 112 Santtu Leskinnen, who has faced six ranked singles players this season.

Saturdays match-up with William & Mary will run in conjunction with the Old Dominion women’s tennis match against William & Mary. Both matches will start at 2:00 p.m. The Old Dominion Tennis Monarchs have three matches left, next Sunday’s home and regular season finale against Middle Tennessee will be senior day for Zvonimir Podvinski and Darragh Glavin.
