IRVING, Texas – The Old Dominion women’s tennis team placed five players on the All-Conference USA Teams and one tandem on the All-Doubles Second Team as announced by C-USA officials on Friday.  Borislava Botusharova, who was named to the First Team, went 10-3 overall for the season while competing in the No. 1 spot for ODU. She went a perfect 2-0 at the C-USA Tournament. At one point this season, Botusharova reeled off eight straight wins while helping to earn Old Dominion a national ranking throughout the season.  Nikol Hristova was named to the Second Team, while tallying a 12-6 record while competing at No. 1, No. 2, No. 3, No. 4 and No. 5. The senior captain just wanted to win all season long. She went 3-0 in the No. 3 slot and 7-3 in the No. 4 position. After starting the season 1-3, she ended the season claiming victory in nine of her last 11 matches and went 2-0 at the C-USA Tournament.  Hristova and teammate Nataliya Vlasova were named to the All C-USA All-Second Team, as they led ODU in doubles, claiming 10 wins in 14 tries in the No. 1 and No. 2 positions for the Lady Tennis Monarchs. At one point this season, these two won 9 of 11 matches. Old Dominion true freshman, Nataliya Vlasova, went 14-6 overall on the year in singles in the No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 slots for ODU. Vlasova was an impressive 3-1 while playing No. 1, 4-3 at No. 2 and 7-2 at No. 3. She ended the season going 8-2 in her final 10 singles matches. Vlasova also went 2-1 at the C-USA Championship.  Ingrid Vojcinakova was also named to the Second Team, as she went 15-3 overall in the No. 2, No. 3, No. 4 and No. 5 spots. Vojcinakova won 14 out 15 matches at one point this season. She closed out the year going 8-1 in her final nine matches.  ODU sophomore Adriana Rajkovic was named to the Second Team, after playing in the No. 1, No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4 spots, including a victory over No. 65 Tulane’s Elena Muller (6-4, 0-6, 6-4) to help lift the Lady Tennis Monarchs to a 4-2 win early in the season.  Old Dominion ended the season claiming victory in 10 of its last 14 matches, while compiling a 14-8 overall record and ended the year nationally ranked No. 67. The Lady Tennis Monarchs received a No. 4 seed in the 2016 Conference USA Tournament, where they downed No. 13 seeded UTSA (4-0) in the First Round, then defeated No. 5 seeded Marshall (4-0) in the Quarterfinals before falling to No. 1 seeded/No. 44 nationally ranked FIU (4-2) in the Semifinals.  ODU beat four nationally ranked squads this season: No. 49 Indiana (4-3), No. 57 Harvard (4-2), No. 65 Tulane and No. 68 Brown (4-2).  Seven Lady Monarchs were placed on the Conference USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
