CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Old Dominion wrestlers Jack Dechow, Austin Coburn, Austin Eads and Devin Geoghegan were named to the 2015-16 Academic All-MAC Wrestling Team on Monday. It was the second-straight year Coburn received the honor, while Dechow, Eads and Geoghegan earned their first All-MAC Academic team recognition.
Dechow, a three-time NCAA qualifier and 2014 All-American, maintains a 3.22 GPA as a communications major. The redshirt junior from Richmond, Illinois went 21-5 on the season and turned in a 3-2 performance at the NCAA Championships in New York City.
Coburn, a fifth-year senior set to graduate in May, wrapped up his career with 71 wins spanning four different weight classes for the Monarchs. The Midlothian, Virginia native carries a 3.52 GPA in sport management.
Redshirt sophomore Eads landed a spot on his first All-MAC Academic Team with a 3.40 GPA as a double major in criminal justice and sociology. The Lee's Summit, Missouri native recorded 11 wins for ODU at 157 and placed fourth at the Clarion Open.
Geoghegan, a fifth-year senior hailing from Kenilworth, New Jersey, earned his first All-MAC Academic Team recognition as a communications major with a 3.31 GPA. Set to graduate in May, Geoghegan won 10 matches for ODU at 157 and earned a third place finish at the NC State Wolfpack Open.
Kent State landed 12 wrestlers on this year's All-MAC Academic Team, while Eastern Michigan had five and ODU and Central Michigan landed four apiece.

The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport. First-year students and junior college transfers in their first year of residence are not eligible for the award. Outstanding academic and athletic accomplishments for the current season are only considered.
