WASHINGTON -- The Old Dominion women's lacrosse team earned its second consecutive road victory on Saturday, defeating George Washington, 10-7, on a windy, rain-soaked day at the GW Lacrosse Field.

Old Dominion (6-2) had four different players score two goals, led by Morgan Marrale's two goals and one assist. Mary Margaret McCaleb, Katie Miller and Ashmore Standing also netted a pair for the Lady Monarchs.

George Washington (2-6) took the early lead with a goal less than three minutes into the game and would maintain that advantage through the first 14 minutes of the game. However, the Lady Monarchs would then go on a 6-1 run in the latter part of the second half to take the lead that they would not relinquish for the remainder of the game.

Miller, a freshman, tallied consecutive goals to give ODU a 6-2 advantage with one minute remaining in the half, but the Colonials netted a last-minute goal to cut the deficit to three. The Lady Monarchs would then head into halftime with a 6-3 lead, outshooting George Washington, 14-7, in the opening segment.

The Lady Monarchs continued their momentum into the second half, as Marrale netted her second goal of the game and Cydney Tutchton converted a free position attempt to give ODU its biggest lead of the game at 8-3.

The Colonials responded with back-to-back goals to bring GW back within three, but McCaleb and Standing then each scored their second goals of the game to put the Lady Monarchs back ahead by five. George Washington added two goals in the final minute to bring the final score to 10-7.

Overall, ODU outshot GW, 24-21, and forced 23 turnovers, while committing just 16. The Lady Monarchs also held a 21-17 advantage in ground balls. Individually, Colby Muller recorded her first assist of the season, while Alyssa Sebesto, Kerri Caruso and Connor Carson each recorded a team-high two draw controls.

Missy Koscinski led the Lady Monarch defense, causing four turnovers and scooping up eight ground balls. In goal, Maggi Buckley played the full 60 minutes, tallying four saves.
