MERCER, Ga. -- For the fourth consecutive week, a Lady Monarch has been named to the Atlantic Sun's women's lacrosse weekly awards after the league announced Ashmore Standing as the Player of the Week on Tuesday.
In ODU's two games last week, Standing scored a total of 10 goals, including a career-high seven in the loss to William & Mary. The Virginia Beach native followed up that performance with a hat trick in the win over American. All three of Standing's goals came in the second half, including the game-winner with 5:23 remaining. Over the two games, she also compiled seven draw controls, five caused turnovers and one assist.
The 10-goal performance brings Standing's season total to 26, which not only leads the A-Sun, but is also tied for second in the NCAA. The redshirt senior's career total of 133 goals also ranks fourth all-time in ODU history. The weekly honor is Standing's first of the season and the second of her career.
ODU has now had four straight weeks with a weekly honor, as Connor Carson has garnered two awards in the past three weeks and Maggi Buckley earned a weekly accolade two weeks ago.
The Lady Monarchs return to action on Saturday at George Washington at 1 p.m.
