KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. -- The Old Dominion women's golf team wrapped up day two of the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Spring Classic in fifth place, just one stroke behind fourth-place Elon. Katerina Vlasinova is leading the pack for the Lady Monarchs on the individual leaderboard, as the sophomore sits in a tie for 10th place out of 216 golfers.
After the second of three rounds, Coastal Carolina and hosting College of Charleston moved into a first place tie, while Chattanooga, Elon and Old Dominion round out the top five.
Fatima Cano of Troy leads all 216 golfers in the field through two rounds, Heather Munro of Elon is in second and Malene Krolboll Hansen from Coastal Carolina and Emily McLennan from Chattanooga are tied for third.
ODU's Katerina Vlasinova fired a 74 in round two to improve to 10th place while Maggie Simmermacher and Charlotte De Corte are in a tie for 23rd. Rachel Walker is tied for 41st.
Old Dominion leads the whole field of 41 teams in par four average (4.16) and for most birdies with 26.
Both Katerina Vlasinova and Charlotte De Corte are tied for best par four average (3.94). Maggie Simmermacher leads all 216 golfers with 16 birdies.
The Lady Monarchs and the rest of the top 20 teams will compete for the tournament championship beginning with a 9 a.m. shotgun start tomorrow at the Osprey Point course.
