ATHENS, Ga. - Old Dominion University men's swimming and diving sits in second place after day one of the Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) Championships on Wednesday night at the University of Georgia.
The Monarchs got off to a good start in the first event of the day with a third place finish in the 800 freestyle relay with a time of 6:35.27. The team of Anton Mikaelsson, Reed Mathews, Donovan Pope and Vitor Sa got the Monarchs off to a good start.
The 200 medley relay team of Pope, Jacob Zeidler, Reed Mathews and Graham Thatcher set a school record time of 1:28.39 to earn a second place finish.
Old Dominion earned valuable points in the 1-meter dive as Cory Moreno finished second, Danny Rabe third and Brant Knoblauch took sixth place.
The meet continues tomorrow with the prelims at 10 a.m. while the finals start at 6 p.m.
