NORFOLK, Va. – For the second consecutive week, Old Dominion’s men’s basketball guard Trey Freeman (Virginia Beach, Va.) has been named the Conference USA Player of the Week.

The 6-2 redshirt senior captain led the Monarchs to two key conference road victories last week, as he poured in a game-high 28 points, grabbed six rebounds, dished out three assists and had three steals in a 64-60 win at FAU on Thursday night in Boca Raton.

Against Florida Atlantic, Freeman recorded his 1,000th point in an ODU uniform, which only took just over a season a half and half worth of games to accomplish.

At FIU, Freeman scored a game-high 25 points, while hauling down a season-high nine rebounds in ODU’s impressive 78-66 victory on Saturday in Miami.

For the week, Freeman averaged 26.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, two assists and two steals to pace the Monarchs.

He is now averaging 26.7 points per game in C-USA play, which leads all players in the conference. For the season, he is averaging 20.6 points per contest, which also tops the league scoring chart and ranks among the top 20 nationally.

This is Freeman’s fourth C-USA Player of the Week honor of his career (Jan. 25, 2016; Feb. 23 and March 3, 2015).
