RUSTON, La. – Old Dominion (8-6, 1-0 C-USA) will look to snap LA Tech’s (12-2, 1-0 C-USA) 39-game home win-streak on Thursday, Jan. 7 at 9:00 p.m. EST at the Thomas Assembly Center. The Bulldogs’ 39 consecutive victories at home marks the country’s second longest current streak. The game will be televised on the CBS Sports Network with John Sadak handling play-by-play duties and Chris Walker taking care of the color commentary.

LA Tech was the last team to beat ODU at the Ted on Feb. 22 of 2014 by a 71-66 score. The Monarchs have won 32 straight games at home since that loss.

Thursday night’s game will be each teams second contest in Conference USA play, as both teams won their league opener on Saturday.

THE ALL-TIME SERIES – LA TECH vs. OLD DOMINION
These two schools have met twice prior to Thursday night, with each team winning one contest. Old Dominion took down the Bulldogs last season by a score of 72-53. LA Tech defeated ODU during the 2013-14 season by a score of 71-66. Both games were played in Norfolk.

LAST TIME OUT FOR OLD DOMINION
The Old Dominion men's basketball team extended its home winning streak to 32 games with a 74-65 victory over Charlotte in the Conference USA opener on Saturday at the Ted.

Old Dominion was led by Trey Freeman's 21 points on 9-13 shooting from the floor. Aaron Bacote (four assists) added 18 points, Brandan Stith tallied 11 points and nine rebounds, while Denzell Taylor contributed a game-high 13 rebounds.

Overall, ODU shot 50.8 percent from the field and outrebounded Charlotte (3-10, 0-1 C-USA), 41-28. The Monarchs led for a total of 33:54 of the possible 40 minutes. For the contest, Old Dominion held advantages for points in the paint (50-32), points off turnovers (21-6) and bench points (29-10).

INSIDE THE NUMBERS FOR OLD DOMINION
For the season, Trey Freeman is leading the way for the Monarchs averaging 16.7 ppg and 3.6 rpg. Aaron Bacote is averaging 15.4 points a contest, while Zoran Talley is averaging 8.7 points and 4.5 rebounds. Brandan Stith is netting 8.5 ppg to compliment 8.0 boards per contest, while Nik Biberaj is chipping in 6.4 points per outing to go along with 4.4 boards. Denzell Taylor currently leads ODU with 102 rebounds (7.3 per game).

Old Dominion is averaging 67.0 points a game, while holding opponents to 59.4 points on 38.3% shooting from the floor and 30.8% from long-range. The Monarchs turn the ball over 9.6 times per game, while forcing opponents into an average of 11.6 forced turnovers per contest.

MEET LA TECH
The Bulldogs enter Thursday night’s contests with a 12-2 overall record, a 1-0 C-USA mark, while going a perfect 9-0 at home so far. In fact, Louisiana Tech has claimed victory in 39 straight home games, which is the country’s second longest streak.

Leading the way for the Bulldogs so far this season has been Alex Hamilton (18.0 ppg/6,1 rpg), Erik McCree (17.3 ppg/7.1 rpg) and Qiydar Davis (10.6 ppg/6.7 rpg).

Louisiana Tech’s most notable win came at Ohio State on Nov. 24, 82-74. In the Conference USA opener on Saturday the Bulldogs were too much for Southern Miss, 87-57.

LA Tech was picked to finish fifth in the preseason poll behind UAB, Old Dominion, Middle Tennessee and UTEP. Louisiana Tech was one of only two teams to have multiple players named Preseason All-Conference as guard Alex Hamilton and forward Erik McCree were selected to the 10-person Conference USA team.

Former University of Miami assistant coach Eric Konkol was named the new head coach of Louisiana Tech on May 18, 2015, which was 11 days after the job became open as former LA Tech head coach Michael White took over at the University of Florida.
