NORFOLK, Va. -- The Old Dominion University athletic department is proud to announce the addition of two new staff members. ODU alum Matt Meier has been hired as the Assistant Director of Marketing & Promotions and Kyle Weakland has been hired as the Video Coordinator for women’s basketball.
Meier, an ODU alum, returns to Norfolk after serving as an Assistant Director of Marketing & Sales at Ohio University. While at Ohio, Meier also worked as a Marketing & Corporate Partnership Gameday Assistant for the Cincinnati Bengals. Meier earned a Bachelor's in Sport Management from ODU in 2013 and a Master's in business administration from Ohio University in 2015. He is currently pursuing a Master's degree in sport administration from Ohio University.
Weakland comes to ODU after previously serving as a video and operations intern for Cleveland State women’s basketball team. Prior to his stint as an intern, Weakland was the graduate assistant Video Coordinator for the Cleveland State women’s basketball team. As an undergrad at Kent State, Weakland was a student manager and office assistant for the KSU women’s basketball team. Weakland earned his Bachelor’s from Kent State in 2012 and his Master’s from Cleveland State in 2015.
