NORFOLK, Va. -- Fresh off a buzzer beating win over Middle Tennessee on Saturday, the Old Dominion women’s basketball team will hit the road again this week with games at Western Kentucky and Marshall. The Lady Monarchs will face WKU on Jan. 21 at 12:00 p.m. (ET) before heading to Huntingdon, W.Va. to take on Marshall at 1:00 p.m.

ABOUT ODU
With less than a second on the clock, freshman Makayla Timmons drilled a 40-foot three-pointer to lift Old Dominion over Middle Tennessee, 61-58, on Saturday night in the Murphy Center. The Lady Monarchs moved to 7-10 overall and 3-2 in Conference USA with the win, putting the team in a tie with four other programs for second place in the C-USA standings. Jennie Simms led ODU with 17 points and four assists, while Destinee Young added another double-double of 10 points and 11 rebounds. Ije Ajemba recorded a game-high 12 rebounds to go along with her nine points and career-high six steals.
Overall, ODU averages 58.0 points (-4.6 margin) and 37.0 rebounds per game (-1.6 margin). In just Conference USA games, Old Dominion leads the league in three different categories, while ranking in the top-five in three others. The Lady Monarchs top C-USA in rebounding offense (41.6), rebounding defense (32.2) and rebounding margin (+9.4), while ranking in the top-five in scoring defense (57.8 - 2nd), offensive rebounds (16.6 - 3rd) and defensive rebounds (25.0 - 5th).
For the season, Simms leads the team and Conference USA with 19.1 points per game, while Young adds 10.2 points and a team-leading 8.0 rebounds per contest.
ABOUT WKU
Kendall Noble scored a career-high 31 points, including the 1,000th of her career, as WKU claimed its 11th consecutive victory with a 65-53 decision against North Texas inside E.A. Diddle Arena on Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Lady Toppers improved to 14-2 overall and a perfect 5-0 in conference action, which is tied for the conference lead with UTEP.
Noble became the 36th member of WKU's 1,000-point club, as she finished the game 9-of-20 from the floor and 9-of-11 from the free throw line. Tashia Brown tallied her 12th straight double-digit game with 18 points for the Lady Toppers and Ivy Brown notched 10 rebounds, her 10th double-digit effort this season.
The Lady Toppers lead the league in conference games only three categories, while ranking in the top-five in seven others. WKU is tops in scoring defense (57.0), scoring margin (+13.0) and offensive rebounds (19.2) and is second in the league in three-point percentage (34.8), rebounding defense (33.2) and rebounding margin (+7.2).
Noble leads the team with 17.8 points per outing, while T. Brown is not far behind with 17.1 points per game. Noble also leads the team with 4.3 assists and 2.3 steals to go along with her 7.8 rebounds. I. Brown chips in 11.7 points, but leads the team with 9.4 boards and 1.4 blocks per contest.
ABOUT MARSHALL
The Herd enter the week with a 12-4 overall record and a 2-3 mark in Conference USA play.Marshall rolled to an 81-52 victory over Rice on Saturday afternoon, marking the Herd’s most one-sided win in 11 seasons against an in-state opponent. It also marked Marshall’s biggest league triumph since a 75-45 Southern Conference home win over Western Carolina in a March 2, 1991.
Leah Scott led the team with 18 points, while Logan Fraley went 4-of-4 from three-point land to record 13 points in 18 minutes of action. In the post, Chelsey Romero had a season-best 13 rebounds to go along with her five points. Marshall out-scored Rice 30-9 in bench scoring, while holding a 39-23 advantage in rebounds.
The Herd are in the top-five in four conference only categories, including third in free-throw percentage (74.2). Marshall is also fourth in three-pointers made (6.0) and fifth in rebounding defense (35.8) and steals per game (8.4).
Scott leads the team with 16.9 points per outing, while adding 6.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists to her stat line. Shayna Gore is the only other player in double-figures for Marshall, as she chips in 13.5 points.
