IRVING, TEXAS – Old Dominion junior offensive lineman Tyler Compton was named to the Conference USA All-Academic Team, the league office announced on Thursday.
A Virginia Beach native, Compton earns the honor for the second-straight season. He completed his undergraduate degree in mathematics in two and a half years with a 3.92 GPA and is now in pursuit of his master’s in business and currently holds a 4.0 GPA. During the 2015 football season Compton was one of just eight players who received their undergraduate degree and is taking graduate classes with more than one year of eligibility.
Compton played in all 12 games for the Monarchs this season, starting two games, one each at center and guard.
