ORLANDO, Fla. – Day one is in the books for the Old Dominion women’s tennis team at the prestigious USTA Clay Court Championships in Orlando, Fla. where Ingrid Vojcinakova, Marijana Novakovic and Ivana Vukovic all won their first round matches.

Ingrid Vojcinakova was too much for North Florida’s Noemi Hemmerich (6-3, 6-3) in Garnet Draw and will next have a showdown against Monica Matias of Central Florida in the Round of 16 on Friday at 9:30 a.m.

No. 4 Seed Marijana Novakovic took down Central Florida’s Diana Dehterevich in straight sets (6-3, 6-3) in the White Draw. Novakovic will now square-off against Virginia Tech’s Sansitha Nandakumar on Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the Round of 16.

Ivana Vukovic paved her way to the Round of 16 in the White Draw after getting the better of Stetson’s Alexe Viaud in straight sets (7-6, 6-1) and will face off against Kelly Willford of Virginia Tech on Friday at 11:00 a.m.

Participating in the Gold Draw, ODU’s freshman Nataliya Vlasova, who fell in the first round of after drawing to the No. 1 seed Josie Kuhlman (University of Florida), who is currently ranked No. 5 in the latest ITA Rankings.

Old Dominion’s Adriana Rajkovic dropped her opening match to Emily Fanning of Florida State in the first round of the Garnet Draw. Rajkovic will look to rebound in the consolation bracket on Friday.

In the singles White Draw, the Lady Monarchs’ Olivia Large lost a hard-fought three-setter 6-7. 6-1, 6-4 to Cinta Papke of South Alabama in the round of 64.

Friday will consist of singles main draw, singles consolation, as well doubles action in Orlando.

The women’s division of the Championships features: host school Florida State, BYU, UCF, Clemson, Florida, Florida Gulf Coast, Georgia, Kansas State, LA Tech, NC State, North Florida, South Alabama, Stetson, Troy, Virginia Tech and Youngstown State.

The tournament is slated to run through Sunday, Nov. 8
