IRVING, Texas – Old Dominion’s Kathryn Hill (North Ayrshire, Scotland) was one of 11 student-athletes named to the 2015 Conference USA Women's Soccer All-Academic First Team on Wednesday, as announced by league officials. On Tuesday, Hill garnered All-Conference Third Team honors.
After coming to Old Dominion, Hill quickly made adjustments in the classroom and on the pitch in Norfolk. Hill earns a spot on the All-Academic team with a 3.86 GPA in biology. The transfer defender has made an immediate impact on the Lady Monarch back line, helping ODU to three shutouts and 11 matches allowing a goal or less, earning the program’s first ever appearance in the Conference USA Tournament. Hill has also scored one goal and dished out three assists for Old Dominion. This past spring semester, which was Hill’s first at ODU, she earned a perfect 4.0 GPA. The right-footed junior has been named to the Dean’s List every possible semester while at Old Dominion.
The 2015 Conference USA Women’s Soccer Championship kicked off earlier today at the FIU Soccer Stadium in Miami. Florida Atlantic, Louisiana Tech, Marshall, Middle Tennessee, North Texas, Old Dominion, Rice and WKU are set to compete in the eight-team, three-day championship.
No. 6 seeded Old Dominion is slated to take on No. 3 seed Florida Atlantic at 7:00 p.m. tonight in the Quarterfinals.
All four quarterfinal matches and both semifinal games will be streamed on the C-USA Digital Network. The championship match is set for Sunday, Nov. 8 at 11 a.m. EST and will be aired live on Fox Sports Networks.
