ORLANDO, Fla. - The Old Dominion women’s tennis team will get underway on Nov. 5 at the USTA Clay Court Championships in Orlando, Fla., which run until Sunday, Nov. 8. Fans can tune into all the action from the Collegiate Clay Court Invitational presented by VISITFLORIDA.com here, as matches are being streamed live on ESPN3.
This year’s tournament, which is being held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports and the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress, is being hosted by Florida State. The official webpage, found here, can be accessed for live updates, draws, results and more.
The women’s division of the Championships features: host school Florida State, BYU, UCF, Clemson, Florida, Florida Gulf Coast, Georgia, Kansas State, LA Tech, NC State, North Florida, South Alabama, Stetson, Troy, Virginia Tech and Youngstown State.
Participating in the Gold Draw, will be ODU’s Natalia Vlasova, as she drew the No. 1 seed Josie Kuhlman from Florida in the first round who is currently ranked No. 5 in the latest ITA Rankings. Also in the Gold Draw from Old Dominion is Nikol Hristova who will face No. 3 seeded Ellen Perez from the University of Georgia.
Old Dominion’s Adriana Rajkovic drew Emily Fanning of Florida State in the first round of the Garnet Draw, and Ingrid Vojcinakova is poised to battle North Florida’s Noemi Hemmerich on Thursday afternoon also in the Garnet Draw.
Marijana Novakovic received a No. 4 seed in the White Draw and will first have a showdown against Central Florida’s Diana Dehterevich on Thursday afternoon. Also in the White Draw is Old Dominion’s Ivana Vukovic, as she will face Stetson’s Alexe Viaud out of the gates. The Lady Monarchs’ Olivia Large will take on Cinta Papke of South Alabama in the round of 64 in the White Draw.
In doubles, it will be Old Dominion’s Natalia Vlasova and teammate Adriana Rajkovic taking on Troy’s tandem consisting of Nancy Karaky and Sanae Ohta in the Gold Draw on Thursday night. Also playing together in the Doubles Gold Draw will be ODU’s Nikol Hristova and Marijana Novakovic, who must first get past NC State’s duo of Bianca Moldovan and Joanna Nalborska.
Old Dominion’s Ingrid Vojcinakova and Ivana Vukovic are the No. 2 in the Garnet Doubles Draw and will await the winner of Clemson’s Tristen Dewar/Ally Miller-Krasilnikov and North Florida’s Luise Intert/Michelle Valdez.
