NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion University senior swimmer Reed Mathews was named the Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association (CCSA) Swimmer of the Week after a strong weekend at the Nike Cup.
Mathews highlighted the weekend with a runner-up finish in the men’s 200-yard butterfly, recording a NCAA B Standard time of 1:44.41. The Colorado native also captured ninth place in the 100-yard fly with an NCAA B Standard time of 47.65. In the 200-yard freestyle relay, Mathews, Anton Mikaelsson, Jacob Zeidler and Graham Thatcher recorded a fourth place finish (1:22.32) and also swam to 10th place in the 400-yard medley relay (3:19.31).
