Through a partnership between the ODU's Women's Initiative Network (WIN) led by ODU First Lady Kate Broderick as well as Old Dominion University Athletic Department, WAVY TV 10 and the Coats for Families campaign, ODU is encouraging fans to donate a new or gently used coat at the Nov. 14, ODU football game vs. UTEP. The campaign is an annual effort to provide coats to children and families in need.
ODU encourages fans to donate a coat at the Coats for Families drop boxes, located at the entrances to the stadium and on Kaufman Mall, beginning at 10 a.m. Gently used items refers to no rips, tears or tattering of the coat. All donated coats that are not new will be professionally cleaned. All sizes of coats are accepted, and of particular need are children’s coats.
Saturday's game is ODU's 47th straight home sellout, however game tickets are not required for coat donations.
